PIV measurement of a jet from a gasper in an aircraft cabin mockup

The air conditioning system of most commercial aircrafts consists a main system, which operates on the principle mix ventilation, and personalized called gasper. Field studies show that passengers prefer to keep gasper parcially open or redirect it away from head due discomfort. Therefore, there is demand characterize flow this device for future improvements. In way, present work aims experimentally study jet inside real cabin mockup using PIV. results indicate are subjected high speed in their breathing zone mostly supplied by mixed ventilation large entrainment ratio.
